MATCHAPAPA

Hi, I'm Patrick

I’ve always known I wanted to build something of my own. Creativity has always been part of who I am, and entrepreneurship felt like a natural path. I work full-time in sales, and outside of that, I dedicate myself to MATCHAPAPA.

What started as a personal project has grown into something much bigger. I manage every part of the business—from sourcing and supplier relationships to logistics, order fulfillment, and product testing. I haven’t made it to Japan yet, but it’s a dream I’m working toward. In the meantime, I’ve built direct relationships with partners who share the same commitment to quality and tradition.

For the creative side, I collaborate with Virginia (@medchibana), who helps shape the visual and content direction of MATCHAPAPA. We work closely to ensure everything you see reflects the same care that goes into the matcha itself.

This brand is personal. It’s built with care, discipline, and purpose. And it’s for people who appreciate the difference that makes.

Happy that you're here!

Gratefully

MATCHAPAPA

how it started

Sometimes the most authentic things come from unexpected places. That’s exactly how our logo was born — not from a design studio, but from the heart of my family. My 7-year-old niece, Luana, is the one who brought it to life.

I had spent hours trying to design something on Canva, but everything felt forced and too polished. So I asked my sister to have Luana write it down, just playfully. I had imagined it in one neat line. But what came back was a spontaneous, three-line scribble. And when I saw it, I knew — this was it. Raw, imperfect, and full of meaning.

MATCHAPAPA was always meant to be more than a name. It’s memorable, playful, and rooted in care. “Papa” means guidance to me. It’s the feeling of someone looking after you, someone you can trust. And the repetition of the words reflects how we learn and build habits. Just like when we were kids, repeating things to remember them. That’s how rituals are born. Small acts repeated until they become part of you.

This brand is built on those principles: Intention. Simplicity. Soul.
