FLAVOUR PROFILE
FLAVOUR PROFILE
Expect a luxuriously smooth experience: deep umami, mellow and creamy sweetness, subtle notes of steamed milk, nori, and delicate florals — all with very low astringency.
PREPARATION
PREPARATION
- Sift 2–3g (about 1–1.5 tsp) of matcha into a bowl.
- Add 60–70ml of hot water (ideally 70–75°C).
- Whisk in a zigzag motion until a smooth, frothy layer forms.
- Enjoy it traditionally as Usucha (thin tea) or for a more intense experience, try it as Koicha (thick tea).
It also shines beautifully in a premium matcha latte.

It widely exceded my expectations.
The colour so vibrant, the texture is spot on what you want of matcha low bitterness balanced astringency, sweet and umami rich.
I 100% repurchase
Really nice smell, mild to taste and the color was vibrant green :) Loved it!
I first tried the Yabukita Single Cultivar from this brand and had such a pleasant experience that I decided to repurchase it — and also try their new launch, the Yame Ceremonial Blend. At first, I was a little worried it wouldn’t live up to the Yabukita, especially since I mostly use matcha for lattes, warm or iced.
I’m happy to say my experience with the Yame blend has been very positive. Even in a latte, its flavor really comes through, which to me is a sign of high quality. Compared to the Yabukita, it’s definitely a brighter, deeper green and has its own distinct taste that feels smooth and balanced.
This is a pricier matcha, but I haven’t been disappointed with either of the products I’ve tried from this brand — the quality is obvious. If you’re looking to make matcha at home, I’d definitely recommend giving these a try. And don’t be afraid to experiment! Adjust the amount of milk to your liking for a stronger or more delicate flavor. That’s what I did, and I really enjoyed the result.
Amazing matcha 🫶🏻🤍
definitely amazing!!! I used to buy mY matcha’s on Amazon (often questionable quality) but now I just want to buy MATCHAPAPA. love IT
Let customers speak for us
from 55 reviewsThis was my first time trying Matcha tea and I honestly didn’t expect it to taste this good. MATCHAPAPA’s Matcha has a really fresh, clean flavor that’s smooth and not bitter at all. It mixes easily and turns out creamy with a nice foam on top.
I first tried it with just hot water and then made a latte with oat milk. Both were great, but the latte was next level. You can tell the quality is really high, and it gives you a nice steady energy boost without feeling wired.
For anyone new to Matcha like me, this is a perfect start. It tastes fantastic and feels like something I’ll keep drinking every day.

I’m so impressed with Matchapapa’s ceremonial matcha! The flavor is smooth and balanced with a nutty sweetness, a touch of vegetal notes and umami, and just a hint of pleasant bitterness. Light to medium bodied, but still layered enough to feel interesting.
The color is a vibrant jade green that makes every cup look luxurious, and it whisks up beautifully into a creamy froth. Honestly, the experience feels both beginner-friendly and high quality, easy to drink, yet satisfying for someone who has tried many different matcha brands.
Bonus points for the design. The tin is gorgeous and makes the ritual feel even more special.
Highly recommend this as both a daily go-to and as a little luxury in your cup 🍵💚
I have no words about this matcha. To put it into simple words it was absolute heaven. Umami taste - rich texture and undebatably premium quality. I 100% reccommend this.
I used to make matcha at home all the time, then stopped for a while. When I decided to start again, I wanted something high quality. The most important thing for me is that it tastes good and has that original matcha flavor. This one is exactly to my liking — even just opening the tin, you can already tell: it smells amazing and has a beautiful, vibrant green color.
Every cup I’ve made has been flavorful, and I especially enjoy the rich umami taste this matcha brings. I’d recommend experimenting with different types of milk, as I did, to find the one that complements the flavor best. A very overpowering milk can cover up the delicate notes, and that would be a shame, because the taste of this matcha really deserves to shine through.
Yes, it’s slightly more expensive compared to some others I saw online, but I’m so glad I went for it. If you’re looking to make matcha at home with truly quality ingredients, this is one I’d definitely recommend.
I‘ve tried many matchas before but the taste and deep green color of Matchapapa is unmatched. Website and shipping all worked perfectly, I do highly recommend Matchapapa 🤩
Amazing ceremonial grade matcha, perfect to make your matcha lattes at home. Subtle taste, nice color
